Although poker fans’ attention has been captured by the WSOP over the last couple of weeks, they were enabled to enjoy yet another exciting tournament. The Bellagio in Las Vegas played host to Bellagio Cup XII. The $10,000 buy-in event attracted 268 entrants who accumulated a prize pool of $2,599,600. As many as 27 players made it to the money bubble and the lowest payout amounted to $23,396.
At the end, it was Kuljinder Sidhu who topped up the field and pocketed the top prize of $599,440 as well as the tournament trophy. Sidhu was declared a winner after a heads-up play against Nick Schulman, recognised as a high stakes pro. The latter took the runner-up position and added $557,388 to his bank account as well as 1100 POY points.
As for the winner, the Englishmen is no stranger to prestigious poker tournaments. He has won the £1,000 + 70 No Limit Hold’em Main Event in 2010 as well as the €150 + 10 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Bounty in 2013 and the €10,000 + 250 High Roller Re-entry (Event #4) in 2015.
The other players who made it to the final table were Chance Kornuth who became the bronze medallist in Bellagio Cup XII. He was sent home with the amount of $285, 956.
Connor Drinan, who has two WSOP Final Tables and one WPT Final Table in his professional poker career, occupied the fourth position. He scooped $198,869 and 660 POY points for his efforts. Pratyush Buddiga, who is considered one of the most prominent poker players, finished 5th and was awarded $148,177 and 550 POY points.
The sixth place was for Adam Geyer who collected a payout of $114,382 and 440 POY points. The seventh position was for David Peters who got $88,386 of the accumulated prize pool. The 8th and the 9th positions were occupied by Liv Boeree and Dani Stern who were awarded $63,990 and $46,793, respectively.
The other notable finishes in Bellagio Cup XII tournament were the 10th position of Byron Kaverman, the 11th place of Noah Schwartz, the 12thplace of Igor Kurganov.
Justin Bonomo, who has recently made the headlines with his refusal to take a winners photo after EPT in Monte Carlo, finished 15th. Rainer Kempe and Jason Wheeler occupied the 16th and the 17 position, respectively.
